Small GroupsSmall groups are the building blocks of life at Nativity A big church can sometimes have you feeling like “just one of the crowd”. That’s why Nativity is into small groups - they’re the places where you can feel you “belong”. Small groups are often where relationships form as you share aspects of your lives together. Some of our groups are ongoing, like the Care Cells that meet either weekly or fortnightly. As a cell-based church these groups are the building blocks of life at Nativity because they are places where you experience Christian community on a relational level. Some of our small groups have a definite life span, like our specialist groups which meet for a particular period of time (say 8 or 12 weeks) as they explore a particular issue of life and faith, marriage enrichment, divorce or depression. These groups are run by people who have experience of the topic themselves. Nativity has a range of small group settings that are all great places to explore issues associated with faith and life. Check out the options – contact people are listed with the group. Care CellsCareCells are where Christian community is lived out as people hang out together, care for each other and learn from each other. These small groups (around 8-10 people) meet regularly (weekly, fortnightly, daytime, evening – there’s a range of options) CareCells are all about meaningful relationships (with each-other, and with God) and spiritual growth. They are a forum in which to examine life issues, ask the “dumb questions” and the “hard questions” about Christianity and find sound answers. CareCell are a safe place to express areas of concern, struggles, fears and doubts. It’s not all serious stuff though. Most CareCells have a real social aspect to them, with liberal amounts of coffee, food and laughter involved. For more information about CareCells contact the Church Office. Grief ShareGrief Share is facilitated by people who have experienced significant grief themselves. They have genuine concern and empathy for people who are experiencing grief and loss. Divorce CareIs a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Christians and DepressionHere at Nativity we want to offer a safe environment for those who live with depression, as well as offer support and understanding. This series of nine seminars offers open and frank discussion on the subject. |
