How We Budget
At the start of each year, the Finance Committee comprising the Wardens, the Treasurer and the Finance Manager set a budget for the coming year. Considerable effort goes into ensuring the budget is not excessive and that any unnecessary expenses have been removed.
In order to keep you informed, we publish an update in our Weekly Bulletin each month and on our website which shows how our giving is tracking against the budget. Frequently we find there is a considerable shortfall, which may be a tell-tale of spiritual maturity in our church. The challenge is that in order for our church to function effectively we need everyone to be involved in sharing the financial load. All of us have been richly blessed and we are all merely stewards of the gifts that God has given us and will be called to give an account of how we have used these resources. What a joy it would be if we not only met our budget but had surplus funds to contribute to gospel work locally and around the world. One can hardly imagine what could be done:
Please consider giving to support the ministries of Nativity and to support the advancement of the gospel in the world. This exhortation is not meant to produce guilt, but rather to awaken many of us to a major hole in our Christian lives. Mature Christian living involves giving to gospel work. This information is presented with the prayer that our family of churches would respond to our financial needs with great joy and generosity, to the glory of God. One of the best ways to begin giving is to do so online. We have information about Electronic Funds Transfers on the link "Ways to Give". |
