LYFE will help individuals and small groups discover a deeper life with God.LYFE is a comprehensive new small group resource that NZ Bible Society is offering free to churches. LYFE will help individuals and small groups discover a deeper life with God. Based around six key spiritual formation themes including prayer, social justice and the Bible, the sessions are easy to lead and highly relational. LYFE is suitable for Christians at any point on their faith journey.

LYFE is designed to be flexible – groups can choose a six week taster track, a three month track or the full 36 week track. Each session includes a different video interview and invites reflection on a passage from the Bible, plus the opportunity to experience a spiritual practice.

Completed an Alpha Course or Christianity Explored course and wondering what to do next? LYFE is perfect for all small groups, from home groups and Bible study groups to those that (would have) met in pubs or cafés.

Reflections for Small Groups

1/4/2020

In such a time as this, we may pause and reflect upon the role and direction of every church. Within our small groups, perhaps we could discuss and pray about the church’s role today. Here are some thoughts we’ll like to share:
  • The church comes home: That every home may be a sanctuary for God and provide warm hospitality to people
  • The church goes digital: That every member would stay connected to their church communities in this digital age
  • The church prays more: That every believer would unite with the wider church in fervent and steadfast prayer
  • The church brings hope: That every church may actively step up in evangelism and social care for the vulnerable
Even as we exercise responsible care and take precautions such as online sermons and meeting only in our household groups during this situation, may mutual encouragement from the community continue to flourish!

Sermons

1/4/2020

The Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and should continue to be preached to encourage and exhort the saints. Your small group may be edified together through watching Nativity's online sermons HERE or listen to previous sermons from our sermon archive HERE. Alternatively, your group could read aloud and meditate on Bible passages together. What does God wish to speak to us today from His Word?
TELEVISION MINISTRIES
If you are unable to access online material easily, some other preachers we would recommend would include:
  • David Jeremiah - www.davidjeremiah.org/ Sermons are also broadcast on Shine TV.
  • Charles Stanley - www.intouch.org/ Sermons are also broadcast on Shine TV.

Movies and films are a great way for people to bond and have conversations about God, life and the world around us. There’s a variety of thought-provoking movies and faith-based movies for us to think about God’s big story and how we may live as Christ ambassadors in the world. Besides livestreaming church sermons, what are some movies that you can think of to watch in your small groups today?

  • Paul The Apostle
  • Case For Christ
  • Heart Of Man
  • Indivisible
  • Storm Boy
  • An Interview With God
  • Christ Alone
  • Christ Crucified
