Vestry has now had an opportunity to read and discuss the 'Moving Forward Together' resource provided by the Diocese for churches in practising reconciliation. DEVOTIONS Below you will find a link to 10 devotions that begin this process - we encourage you to begin these this Sunday (see instructions in the document) and if possible, to share in that with others. There is then a questionnaire to help with your reflections. FACILITATED FORUMS After allowing time for that we will then have facilitated forums that will provide an opportunity, governed by some clear principles and values, to share our experiences, to be heard by one another and by church leadership. More details will follow on when those will be. The process then culminates with a rededication service we are planning to have on Pentecost Sunday. This service will conclude with a church-wide Pentecost meal together. |
If you are able, do have a look at the entire 'Moving Forward Together' document - it includes expert input on conflict resolution, restorative justice and counselling and all on the basis of good theology. Reconciliation, coming together as God's people that hold a variety of views, is core to who we are as followers of a God who is reconciling the world to himself. Let's take this up as part of our ongoing journey and commitment to becoming more and more the body of Christ in this place.
